The Sales Role

Growing the user base is the name of the game. You will be calling on wineries and introducing them to our client’s ecommerce platform. This requires the ability to persistently identify decision makers, effectively communicate the value proposition, and maintain a sense of humor and flexibility during the process.

This is not a “Boiler Room” sales job. But that doesn’t mean it’s effortless. You must possess the internal drive and discipline to make phone calls and work a sales cycle. You also must enjoy talking to people all day about food and wine.

You will own the entire sales cycle and help shape the sales process. Unlike many SMB sales cycles, this is NOT a “hard sell.” It really comes down to educating the decision maker about the solution. Because our client offers an ecommerce platform that instantly adds value to the prospective buyer, it becomes easy for the prospective customer to become a client once they fully understand the offering. The platform is simple and easy to use and will enable customers to generate additional revenue instantly with very little additional effort.

This is one of the first salespeople for a new solution in an early stage company. You will have the chance to help shape processes, procedures, and share your ideas with leadership.   • 3+years’ CURRENT experience calling on SMB accounts preferably retail, restaurant, and other small businesses (i.e. sales experience similar to Groupon, Yelp, Demandforce, Yext, LivingSocial, Google AdWords, OpenTable, SeatMe)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Patience, persistence, and flexibility
  • Ability to report into San Francisco office daily at varied times since clients can be in many different time zones
  • Passion for food and wine industry highly preferred
  • Winning attitude and ability to be part of the sales team in an early state start-up


80K-85K base, quarterly bonus, OTE 160K-180K + Equity
